Auto Tracking
What is Dahua Auto Tracking?
Auto Tracking is an AI-based Dahua feature designed for PTZ cameras that automatically tracks moving targets. Once an object triggers an IVS rule, the camera automatically adjusts its pan, tilt, and zoom to keep the detected target centred in the image. Using AI-based motion analysis, the system can also predict the object’s direction of travel and speed, allowing targets to be followed continuously even during dynamic movement.
The latest version of Auto Tracking 3.0, combined with the most recent firmware release, supports four target types: human, vehicle, aircraft, and ship.
The Dahua Auto Tracking feature provides several technical enhancements for reliable target follow-up:
- Smooth Focus ensures smoother and more stable focusing on the target during tracking and capture.
- Fast Moving Tracking adapts PTZ rotation, zoom, and image exposure to the target’s speed, allowing even fast-moving objects to be followed continuously.
- Accurate Zooming keeps the target centred in the image with the right proportion, improving visual tracking performance.
- Long Tracking Distance enables reliable tracking of smaller targets over greater distances.
- Filtering Interference helps maintain continuous target tracking even in complex scenes with occlusion, interlacing, or changing light conditions.
What Practical Benefits Does Dahua Auto Tracking Offer?
Auto Tracking 3.0 reduces manual intervention by allowing PTZ cameras to automatically keep detected targets in view, eliminating the need for continuous operator readjustment. It also supports uninterrupted observation of relevant events, enabling situations to be assessed more quickly and operational decisions to be made with greater precision. In addition, the camera can be linked to multiple alarm sensors, providing flexible visual coverage of the respective alarm location.
